| Day 1 - Adventure begins. |
We arrive in Bucharest, the modern capital of Romania early morning. The group is greeted by the friendly guides and straight away whisked northbound towards the Carpathian Ridges that are covered in snow. We continue towards the Poi Poi reserve before late morning. Here we will stop and rest a little with a continental breakfast to fuel us for the adventurous day ahead. Next we greet the snow bikes for the first time and after a safety briefing and usage instructionswe venture out onto the snow carpeted playground. Today we make sure everyone is comfortable with the mobiles and go on a small ramble off road into the surrounding white forests. By early evening we return to a authentic mountain lodge located in the heart of the Carpathians. We sit around the open fire eating traditional Romanian Goulash and drinking local Tsuica and talking of the days events.
| Day 2 - Saturation in the snowy landscape - Adrenaline biking. |
We start this morning straight from the lodge with the bikes and convoy style pass through Zizin Valley. We get our first taste of real discovery as we climb through the short razor like ridges, frozen valleys and bare mountain sides. This untouched route is serene and isolated so the group wil ltake in the atmosphere and crist morning mountain air all the while viewing the varied pine filled topography. After stopping for lunch we continue our way through a dense forest testing the bikes to the maximum. By early evening we arrive at a log cabin, start our evening fire and eat meats a-la-esh "from the fire" this is the best way to unwind after a adrenaline filled day with a special atmosphere and great company. Of course we will have an abundance of Tsuica to wash the food down with.
| Day 3 - Exploring the depths of the Carpathians - Farewell Romania. |
Early morning we board the bikes for the last time and group together for the days exploration. We will continue our journey towards Brasov. Today is filled with challenging inclines and downhills but the focal points we find are some of the most picturesque anyone will see in their life. Towards early evening we drive back to Bucharest using an extremelly scenic route just in time for our flight home.
